Partners
Mufindi Orphans (MOI) is Every Child Tanzania's primary fiscal and strategic partner. Mufindi Orphans is a 501(c)3 registered charity that was founded in the United States. The organization began by supporting an initiative in Tanzania that was started by Geoff and Vicky Fox in 2005. The growing number of orphaned and vulnerable children in the community was alarming and they enlisted Mufindi Orphans to help address that need. A Tanzanian Non-governmental organization was registered and Mufindi Orphans was able to support the mission. Mufindi Orphans continues to support efforts across Tanzania to help serve the most marginalized populations. The mission of Mufindi Orphans is to support health, education, career, and leadership opportunities for the children and youth of Tanzania.
Jenny Peck and Geoff Knight are the leaders of MOI served in humanitarian sectors for twelve years in East Africa, ten of which were in Mufindi learning from, partnering with, and working alongside their Tanzanian counterparts to establish community development projects within the project area. Jenny holds a B.S. in math from the University of Kansas and a MPH in Maternal and Child Health from University of Minnesota. Geoff has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Kansas.
Jenny was Akida's and Ngojea's secondary school math teacher in 2006 and 2007 when she was teaching in Peace Corps in Mufindi, where Akida and Ngojea are from. Quickly, the four started working together at Foxes NGO in Mufindi - and in 2018, they formed a formal partnership to launch and support ECT. To date, MOI has managed most of the incoming funds and donations for ECT - and has supported ECT in their operational costs and much of the sponsorship costs since 2018.
Whenever you make a donation to ECT, you are welcome to do it through Mufindi Orphans which as a 501(c)(3), you can receive tax benefits and gift receipt. Donate here!
Through DonorSee, you can connect with and directly support vetted projects and nonprofit organizations around the world. DonorSee has grown into a global community of people that are empowered to directly help people in need and support important projects. DonorSee and its donors to date have funded $30,000 worth of ECT community development projects and sponsorships. Check out our projects here!
